Could you please introduce yourself ?
I’m Nina, I’m French and Brazilian and I’m in the 3rd year of the Bachelor of Science in the Math and Eco double major.
Why did you choose the Bachelor of Science of Ecole Polytechnique?
I chose the Bachelor for the international aspect, the level of the school and the small size of the cohort, which meant closer contact with the professors and admin. One thing that I also really liked about the program is the fact that you don’t have to choose your major right away (only at the end of the first year at the latest). That was really good for me since I knew I wanted to do maths and liked physics but had never really done CS or Econ before.
Could you tell us how the third year is going ?
After spending the fall semester on exchange at the University of Tokyo, I have just finished working on my Bachelor thesis in agricultural economics at INRAE. I really like the 6th semester as I’m back with my friends and there is a lot more choice in terms of classes, there’s also not so much pressure on grades since it is the last semester.
Do you have a favourite course?
I don’t but it is really great when you see deeply passionate professors. At the moment, my favorite course would be the one taught by Arthur Touati because of how relatable and energetic this professor is.
What would be a great memory of your third year in the Program that you would like to share with future students?
We had a BBQ and stargazing event organized by “Stellore” (student list) during Campaign Week (student council election), with live music and a super nice atmosphere.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I’ll be going to ETH Zürich and join the masters in Agricultural Economics (with the ESOP :D). After that I think I’d like to work in a food tech company or NGO in that same field of economics.
Any piece of advice to future Bachelor students that you would like to share?
Don’t compare yourself too much.
