Sport plays an essential role in students' education at École Polytechnique. 16 sporting activities are offered at l’X, with facilities both on and off site.
Good for both health and well-being, all students from the Ingénieur Polytechnicien Program are required to practice sports. Six hours a week are dedicated to physical and sporting activities during the students' education. They choose a sport during their 1st year and will keep playing it until their last year. All students, whether they are proficient at a sport or have never played it before, will achieve a university competition level in their chosen sport by the end of their studies. Strong sport ethic and sportsmanship are a great advantage of the Ingénieur Polytechnicien program.
The sports culture at École Polytechnique involves learning how to manage and lead a team, working ethically and respecting rules in the different disciplines taught.
