What do Bachelor of Science students during their third year? Let's find out!

Could you please introduce yourself ?
Hello, my name is Marc Saliba Saouda. I am a third year Lebanese student at the Bachelor of Science and I am enrolled in the mathematics and physics double major.
Why did you choose the Bachelor of Science of Ecole Polytechnique?
I chose to pursue my Bachelor's degree in this program due to its unique multidisciplinary approach, which extends my learning experience far beyond the confines of my major. Also, the international and diverse character of the program provides a globally inclusive environment. Lastly, I spoke to a couple of Bachelor students who told me about how the dynamic and active student life differentiates this program in the sense that at the end of the program students are no longer just peers but they’re a Bachelor family.
Could you tell us how the third year is going ?
So my third year at the bachelor has been quite a unique and wonderful experience compared to the my first two years. I had the opportunity to go on an exchange semester at McGill and I got to discover a beautiful city which is Montreal. When I came back, I had to do my Bachelor thesis which was also very interesting and now I am in my last semester at the Bachelor.
Do you have a favourite course?
As a physics student I would have to say that quantum mechanics is my favorite course. This is because it gives structure and explains phenomena that appear chaotic and unintuitive at first site.
What would be a great memory of your third year in the Program that you would like to share with future students?
Since students usually have a lot more free time in the sixth semester than the rest of the semesters, I got to participate to enjoy this year’s campaign week so much. For those who don’t know, it’s a week where all lists running for the student body spoil students with food and activities to win their vote.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I will be pursuing the Masters in Management or simply the Programme Grande Ecole at HEC Paris. I am deviating a lot from physics but I think I will be specializing in finance in my masters and I would like to pursue a career in sustainable finance.
Any piece of advice to future Bachelor students that you would like to share?
I know that the program is quite academically challenging and might seem daunting at first, but don’t forget that you have access to a lot of help and support since the program is quite small. Don’t be afraid to reach out to members of the administration or professors to ask for help. Also, be sure to benefit as much as you can from the student life on campus.
