Zhenyu Sun
Zhenyu Sun, from Tunisia, is an X2003. He graduated from École Polytechnique's Ingénieur Polytechnicien program in 2007. He is the Director of the Global Investment Banking Division ofCrédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in China.

Why did you choose to study at l’X? What do you preserve from your cursus at l’X?

I knew Ecole Polytechnique thanks to a teacher when I was studying at Harbin Institute of Technology in China.

Some aspects I really liked about l’X was the quality of its staff, unique curriculum - focus on academic education and personal development i.e sport, team spirit, character building. The campus is also great to live in.

As an international student, was your cultural integration easy?

The support given by l’X in administrative procedures definitely made my arrival easier. Even though, it was a long way to be completely integrated, I appreciated the time spent at l’X.

After your graduation, how did you manage to build your professional career?

At first, the “Ingénieur polytechnicien” degree was very useful as well as the strong Alumni’s network in France.

After a specialization in Applied Mathematics, I joined BNP Paribas (Paris) as an intern in the Corporate Finance Department in 2007 and worked for BNP Paribas (Paris and Hong Kong) till late 2012.Between late 2012 and 2015, I focused on M&A advisory related projects at China Merchant Securities (HK), one of the leading Chinese securities firm. Since beginning of 2016, I joined the Global Investment Banking Division of Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, based in Hong Kong and primarily focused on originating and executing cross border M&A transactions.
