ECOSEM is involved in a number of valuable industrial partnerships, and offers opportunities for internships and international academic exchanges.
The Ecotechnologies for Sustainability and Environment Management (ECOSEM) Master's Program aims to produce project managers who are able to tackle a wide variety of environmental challenges, such as industrial discharge control, chemical and biological approaches to pollution diagnosis, water and soil treatment, and waste valorization. The Program also covers new concepts such as life cycle assessment, eco-design, omics sciences, numerical simulation and modeling.
While most master's courses devoted to environmental issues only provide students with technical skills, ECOSEM also prepares you for managing positions. All the professors in the Program work to help students become both technically skilled and job ready by the end of the two years. Throughout the Master's Program, students have the opportunity to go on a number of field trips and company visits. They also get to put their skills into practice during two internships:
- The first internship takes place at the end of Year 1 and lasts four months. During this period, students must work on a scientific project.
- The second internship takes place at the end of the Program and lasts five to six months. Students have the choice between completing either a scientific or managerial project.
Today more than ever, the precautionary principle and the emerging related standards create an ever-increasing and permanent need for professionals with strong skills in environment management within the corporate, research and public sectors.
The considerable implication of industrial partners and environmental agencies in this degree help provide such skills and ensure employability in many lines of business.
Our graduates are ideally suited to put their technical know-how and managerial expertise to use, in the implementation of environmental policies for leading manufacturers, innovative start-ups, public organizations and governmental agencies.
