What do Bachelor of Science students during their third year? Let's find out!
Could you please introduce yourself ?
My name is Elsa Bismuth, I’m 21 years old and I’m French, from Paris. I’m currently in the Bachelor of Science program with the Maths & Computer Science double major.
Why did you choose the Bachelor of Science of Ecole Polytechnique?
I chose the Bachelor of Science for 3 main reasons:
- The courses : it is general at the beginning with a lot of different subjects, and then more specific with a double major
- The extra-curricular activities: hackathons, committees, organizing Bal de l’X, being part of the junior consulting firm
- The people : international, from various backgrounds, very enriching

Project based courses: Machine Learning, Web Programming
Could you tell us how the third year is going ?
The third year is flying by, and it's been an amazing year so far! Here are some of the key highlights of my third year:
- I had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at Columbia University, focusing on Computer Science.
- I did my thesis in a data consulting firm.
- I’m currently doing my semester 6 at l’X.
What are your ambitions for the future?
I’m interested by Tech (AI) and Entrepreneurship, thus, I decided to join Stanford for a master in Computational Math and Engineering. After that, I’m not sure yet, but I would be interested in starting my own company, using AI for healthcare.
Any piece of advice to future Bachelor students that you would like to share?
Work hard, but remember to keep a balanced life between academics and fun! Welcome opportunities, do some sport, join committees, go out with your friends, and enjoy life at l’X, create some memories that will last!
